BARRY KEITH HARTRY

Barry Keith Hartry of Emo, Ont. passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2019 at La Verendrye Fort Frances hospital. He was 74.
Barry was born on the Sept. 10, 1945, in Emo, to Ralph Hartry and Alice (Hunter) Hartry. Barry is survived by his widow Christine, several Hartry and Hunter cousins and many nieces/nephews. He was predeceased by his parents – life-long residents of Emo – and his infant sister Joanne.
Barry was married on May 19, 1973, in Kenora, Ont. He was educated in Emo public schools, and earned a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He worked as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, for the Federal Business Development Bank in Alberta and for CN Rainy River, in addition to running a farm. Barry loved his extended family, close friends, kind neighbors, the solitude of the country and raising beef cattle. He was a quiet, moral and resolute individual – widely informed and well-respected. Barry held well-considered opinions that were usually not offered – but could be extracted in conversation.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Barry’s life will be held in the spring of 2020, with ashes to be interred in Emo at that time.
