BARBARA ORR CHRYSLER

It is with great sadness that I announce the news of my mother’s sudden passing on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006.
Mum was born Jan. 1, 1927 in Dalmellington, Scotland to the late James and Agnes McLelland. She married Tommy Miller and was widowed shortly after, leaving her with a young son, Jim Miller, who resides in Mauchlin, Scotland with his family.
Mother came to Canada to start a new life in 1957. Shortly thereafter, she married the man who was to be the love of her life, Billy Chrysler.
Together they had one daughter, Heather, who they doted on.
Dad passed away Dec. 8, 1995. Mum missed him so much, she was never the same after his death.
She leaves to mourn her brother, John and Anne McLelland of Dalmellington, Scotland; son, Jim and Rosemary Miller of Mauchlin, Scotland; daughter, Heather Larson and fiance, Dan Paiement, of Off Lake, Ont.; and her grandchildren, which she adored, Craig (Janice) of Mauchlin, Scotland, Grant of Mauchlin, Alice (Tony) of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Jamie (Melissa) and Jackie (Matt), all of Fort Frances, Ont.
Mum also was very proud of her 10 great-grandchildren, Gary, Ainsley, Nicholas, Jessie, Monty, Cole, Carley, Johnathon, Hailey, and her “wee Matty,” whose smile melted her.
Mother was very fond of all her neighbours and I thank you for all you have done for her: Jim and Sherry George, Wayne George, Julie and Allan Loveday, Nora Rodgers, and Larry and Michelle George.
She never forgot a birthday or anniversary, and never bothered a soul for anything. Mum insisted on staying at her own home at the lake and she loved the bush!
As she always sang to me, “I’ll do it my way,” and by God she did. Our lives will never be the same without you, dear mother.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place in Thunder Bay.
A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel in Fort Frances on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 at 11 a.m.
Donations may be made in Mum’s honour to our local Salvation Army, 316 Victoria Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 2C2.
