Barbara Ann Keewaykapow, 32, of Winnipeg, Man., formerly of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont., passed away suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.
She was born Dec. 26, 1965 in Kenora, Ont. to Ronald and Clara Jack.
Barbara attended school in Sabaskong First Nation. She was a kind-hearted person, very humorous and outgoing. Barbara also enjoyed attending pow-wows, and was a fancy shawl dancer.
She was predeceased by one brother, Patrick Jack; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Patrick Hebert; and paternal grandparents, Stewart and Mary Jack.
Barbara is survived by her mother, Clara, and Dave Petiquan of Kenora, Ont.; father, Ronald, and Shannon of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont.; four children, Jillaine, Aaron, Tanya, and Chantelle Keewaykapow, and their father, Vernon Keewaykapow; two sisters, Caroline Jack (Bill Moonias) of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont., and Delilih Jack of Kenora, Ont.; two brothers, Joseph Jack and Robert Dean Jack of Sabaskong First Nation, Ont.; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Catholic-Traditional burial ritual will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998 in the afternoon at the Sabaskong First Nation gymnasium at Sabaskong First Nation. Deacon Elmer Mainville will officiate, with interment in Sabaskong First Nation Cemetery.
A wake will be held Friday evening at the Sabaskong First Nation gymnasium.
Pallbearers will be Dean Jack, Vernon Jack, Patrick Jack, Joseph Jack, Ronald Jack Jr., and Bill Big George.
