It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Evans, 72, at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital in British Columbia.
Ann was born in Worcester, England in 1944. In 1963, Ann graduated from Regina’s Teachers’ College, where she also met and married the love of her life, Harvie Wayne Evans.
Ann and Harvie moved to The Pas, Man. in 1969. While there, Ann became partial owner of the Opasquia Times newspaper.
In 1983, Ann and Harvie moved to Fort Frances, Ont., where Ann established a stained glass business. They retired to Nanaimo in 2004.
Ann was a true artist, and saw the potential for beauty in everything and everyone.
She was known for her kindness, compassion, beauty, and elegance. To family, she was our inspiration and strength . . . we miss you.
Ann is survived by her husband, Harvie; sister, Jane Mackay; and daughters, Sandy (Ron) Leavitt and Debbie (Troy) Hutka, and son, Tony Evans, and their families.
