It is great sadness that the family of Aune Irene DePiero announces her passing on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Rainycrest Long Term Care at the age of 95.
Aune was born on March 11, 1921 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Ivar and Maria Boind. She spent all of her life in Fort Frances.
She was united in marriage to Emidio (Bronc) DePiero in 1943 and she settled into their home making a life for them and their son Jim.
Aune loved her home, taking care to make sure it was immaculately clean. She was truly at her happiest being there surrounded by her flowers, spending hours in her vegetable garden.
She leaves behind her son, Jim, and his wife, Pat; grandson, Matthew; sister-in-law, Lil Pihulak and special friend, Teresa Gagne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews that were so close to her heart.
Aune was predeceased by her husband, Bronc, parents, and brother, Tony.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, ON with Reverend Barbara Miller officiating.
Cremation has taken place with interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances, On.
