ARVILLA DESSERRE

Arvilla Desserre, 90, of Pinewood, Ont., passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at the Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Arvilla was born March 24, 1920 to Adam and Hannah Elliott.
A lifelong resident of the Pinewood and Stratton area, she had many jobs over the years, including being a janitor at the No. 6 School and the Pinewood Hotel. She also worked at Arctic Cat, cut Christmas trees for Godbouts, tree-planted, and collected sphagnum moss.
Arvilla was united in marriage to Wilfred Desserre on Nov 13, 1939 and together they had four children.
Arvilla will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Verna King of Atikokan, Ont. and Bonnie Wolframe of Pinewood, Ont., and son, Ken (Laverne) Desserre of Stratton, Ont.
She will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren, Patty McMullen, Richard King, Darren King, Wanda Wolframe, Sondra (Marvin) Caul, Debbie (Dwayne) Lundgren, Merna (Greg) Van Drunen, Ken (Teresa) Desserre Jr., and Bob (late Cathy) Bates; as well as 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren
She also is survived by two sisters, Ethel Schrumm and Lovie Grear.
Arvilla was predeceased by her parents, Adam and Hannah Elliott; husband, Wilfred; son, Maurice (Gladys); son-in-law, Melvin King; granddaughter, Cathy Bates; five sisters, Betty Dillabough, Bertha Little, Claris Elliott, Sophie Desserre, and Doris Jewett; and one very special niece, Alvena Desserre.
Funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment will take place in Pine Ridge Cemetery in North Branch, Ont. at a later date.
The pallbearers were Rick King, Darren King, Travis Wolframe, Ken Desserre Jr., Tyson Caul, and Kyle Bates.
