It is with great sadness that the family of Arline Grace McCoy Braden, 68, of Brownsville, Tex., announces her passing on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, ending her year-long battle with cancer.
She was born May 9, 1942 in Fort Frances, Ont. to the late Thomas McCoy and LucilleThompson McCoy.
In 1962, Arline married the late William C. (Bill) Myers II of Fort Frances, with whom she had three children, William Casey Myers III, Laurie Ann Myers Miller, and Thomas Edmund Myers.
She remarried in 1981 to Bill Braden of Kansas City, Mo.
Around 1986, Arline turned a corner in life, accepted a new adventure with her company, General Instruments, and transferred to Matamoros, Mexico, retiring from the company in 2004.
Arline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Elaine Myers of Marshall, Tex.; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Henry Sandoval of Brownsville, Tex.; daughter-in-law, Carla Myers of Kansas City, Mo; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Peggy McCoy of Calgary, Alta.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada and the U.S.
She was predeceased by her parents; and son, Tom Myers, in 2008.
Arline enjoyed painting landscapes and especially loved the time spent talking with her children, telling stories of days gone by.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
