It is with heavy hearts that the family of Arden Elijah Goodmurphy sadly announces his passing at age 83 on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at the Sault Area Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Goodmurphy of Schreiber, Ont.; and his children, Marilyn (Andy) Herold of Sault Ste Marie, Ont., Lloyd (Teresa) Goodmurphy of Schreiber, Ont., Doreen Turner of Nipigon, Ont., Beverly (Justin) Martin of Terrace Bay, Ont., and Karen Godin (Randy Diotte) of Sault Ste Marie, Ont.
He also will be lovingly remembered by 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Arden was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie; parents, Albert and Ethel Goodmurphy; brothers, Garnet, Earl, and Howard; sister, Vera Mitchell; sons-in-law, Rejean Godin and Fred Turner; and children, Garnet Charles and Donna Marie in infancy.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Elks Hall in Echo Bay. All were welcome to attend.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Emo, Ont. at a later date.
If friends and family so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Diabetes Association, The Elks’ Club, or a charity of their choice.
