ANTOINE (TONY) GOULIQUER

Antoine (Tony) Gouliquer, 76, of Pinewood, Ont. passed away at his residence on Monday, July 23, 2001. He was born on July 14, 1925 in Nelles Township, Ont.
Mr. Gouliquer lived all his life in the Rainy River District and had lived in Pinewood since 1957. He had worked throughout Northwestern Ontario as a bushman, truck driver, farming, and carpentry work. He served for several years with the Sports Club, and 20 years as road superintendent from 1961 to 1981. He was also a trustee on the Roman Catholic School Board for several years and a member of Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood.
He enjoyed his garden and grandchildren, sports, hunting, fishing, hard ball, woodworking, nature, birds and was a trapper as a young boy.
Tony is survived by his seven children, Albert (Faye) Gouliquer of Val Dor, Que; Marcel Gouliquer of Rainy River, Lorraine (Cliff) McCormick, of Pinewood, Joanne (Tom) McCormick of Pinewood, Anita (Roger) Gouliquer of Thunder Bay, Lucille (Brian) Sullivan of Thunder Bay and Karen Gouliquer of Pinewood.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Cheryl and Robert Matthew, Trevor (Caroline) Gouliquer, Adele McCormick, Marc (Krista) Gouliquer and Tommy McCormick; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Allyson, Ashton, Aaron and Kyra; six brothers and sisters, Hector (Irene) Gouliquer of Ear Falls, Irene Landry of Barwick, Stella Huntley of Atikokan, Lawrence (Olive) Gouliquer of Arbor Vitae, Theo (Georgette) Gouliquer of Stratton, Gerald (Mary) Gouliquer of Ear Falls as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was united in marriage on Oct. 16, 1944 to Rose Langlais who predeceased him on Dec. 26, 1991. He was also predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Ann Gouliquer; his son, Joseph; daughters, Adele and Mary; and brothers, Peter and Arthur.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 26, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood. Father James Panikulam officiated with interment in the Pinewood Catholic Cemetery.
Prayers were offered on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic Church in Pinewood.
The pallbearers were Ed Gouliquer, Tom Landry, Brian Gouliquer, Daniel Langlais, Brad Langlais and Randy Asselin.
The honourary pallbearers were Hector Gouliquer, Leo Langlais, Theo Gouliquer, Albert Langlais, Bob Gouliquer, Alphonse Langlais, Mike Gouliquer, Bill Ellis and Horst Zuhlsdorf.
