It is with great sadness that the family of Reginald Dupuis announce his passing on Friday, May 24, 2002 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Reginald was born July 8, 1928 in Alberton Township, Ont. to the late Julius and Lucie Dupuis. On Sept. 4, 1954, he was united in marriage to Elsie Cuthbertson.
Reg worked as a papermaker in Fort Frances for 45 years, retiring in 1994. In earlier years, he enjoyed golfing, but throughout his life he truly enjoyed all aspects of the game of hockey.
He was predeceased by his parents; foster parents, Edward and Nancy Calder; grandson, Scott Schulz; four brothers, William, Stanley, Edward (Margaret), and Victor (Lillian) Calder; and two sisters, Celia (Charles) Armit and Doris (Andrew) Hill.
Reg is survived by his wife, Elsie Dupuis of Fort Frances, Ont.; two daughters, Joyce and husband, Robert Schulz, of Fort Frances, Ont., and Jacqueline and husband, Darrin Brandli, of Fort Frances, Ont.-Warroad, Mn.; one son, John Dupuis of Fort Frances, Ont.; and three grandchildren, Kevin and Derek Schulz, and Ashley Dupuis.
He also is survived by sisters, Noella (Raymond Sr.) Anderson of Prince George, B.C., and Violet (Archie) Ross of Fort Frances, Ont.; brother, Ernest (Eileen) Calder Sr.; sisters-in-law, Lillian (Stanley Sr.) Calder and Jean (Fraser Cuthbertson) Hoffman of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Pastor Garth Clifford officiating.
Internment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances at a later date.
Luncheon to be held at the Ukrainian Hall immediately after the service.
Honourary pallbearers will be Stanley Calder Jr., Lawrence Calder, Raymond Calder Sr., Donald Armit, Owen Ross, and Jim Cuthbertson.
