With great sorrow, the family of Anthony “Tony” DeLaronde announces his passing on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at McKellar Hospital with his family by his side.
Tony was born in Nipigon, Ont. on Sept. 4, 1926, where he attended school.
In 1946, Tony and Germaine Morin were united in marriage and over the next years, they raised four children, Marie, Terrance, Raymond, and Gerry-Lynn.
Tony was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed hockey, curling, and refereeing hockey along the North Shore. He also received great pleasure in his relationship with his canine companions.
Tony is survived by his children, Marie (Ronald Stewart), Raymond (Susan) DeLaronde, and Gerry-Lynn (Dan Cousineau); grandchildren, Jason, Lanna, Ryan, Devin, Shane, Jenna-Rae, and Christopher; great-granddaughter, Ashley; and great-grandson Alex.
He also will be sadly missed by his sister, Natalie; and brothers, John and Robert.
Tony was predeceased by this parents, Joseph and Daisy; son, Terry; wife, Germaine; sisters, Bebita (Betty) and Midline; and brother, Dale (Cy).
A quiet ceremony for family and friends was held Monday, June 5, 2000 at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
