Annette (Sanche) Langlais, 81, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Annette was born July 13, 1934 in Rainy River, Ont. to Marcien and Thérèse (Hébert) Sanche.
Mom talked about growing up on the farm with Grandma and Grandpa Sanche and her siblings. Her work ethic and love of family was fostered there.
The family later moved to Pinewood, Ont., where she met and married Alphonse Langlais on Aug. 13, 1953. They eventually took over the Langlais homestead in Pinewood, where they raised their family of 11 children.
Annette was foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her family was very important to her and she cherished her time with them.
She instilled in us the importance of family, the love of God, and faith.
Mom loved her gardens, both flower and vegetable, and her green thumb always led to a plentiful harvest that she shared with family and friends as preserves or coupled with her fabulous baking during a sit-down meal at the farm.
Her flower gardens are a sanctuary for birds and wonderful conversations.
Annette was a hard-working woman, caring for those around her through volunteer work at the church and Rainy River Food Bank, and at community functions such as Bingos and Pinewood Sports Days.
She supported those in need around her by getting groceries, helping with household duties, or just visiting.
She worked beside Alphonse and the kids on the farm haying and taking care of the livestock. She also drove school bus for many years and worked as a Red Cross Homemaker.
She will be remembered for her love, grace, patience, and kindness.
Annette is survived by nine of her children, Anne-Marie (Laurie), Paulette (Ted), Jeannette (Murray), Yvonne (Randy), Jacqueline (Al), Gabrielle (Mickey), Roger (Gail), Monique, and Michelle (Rick).
Annette dearly loved her 37 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her siblings, Cecile Anderson, Helene (John) Prystupa, Rose Oke, Louis (Pam) Sanche, and Bernadette (Danny) Danco; as well as sisters-in-law, Loretta Sanche, Betty (Dennis) Wensley, and Joanne Langlais.
Annette was predeceased by her husband, Alphonse; daughter, Lise; son, René; brother, Jules; and sister, Margaret; as well as her parents.
