ANNE L. DESCHAMPS

Anne L. Deschamps, 90, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
She was born Dec. 3, 1914 in Overly, N.D. to the late John and Alice Shucard.
Anne was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, the C.W.L., and a past member of the Canadian Order of Foresters.
Anne enjoyed her flower garden, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and, in earlier years, bowling. She also travelled extensively with her husband, Phillippe.
Upon Phil’s retirement, the two worked in tourist camps in Nestor Falls, Lac La Croix, and the Northwest Territories. Anne cooked (a great cook she was) and Phil was a handy man.
They took the money they earned and bought a motor home. They spent many years travelling as far south as Texas, as far west as Washington state, and as far north as Alaska. They also made several trips to northwest British Columbia.
Anne was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan and one of her most enjoyable pastimes was watching Hockey Night in Canada. Mostly, though, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and she welcomed each new member with joy.
Anne is survived by her sons, John, Bernard (Sharon), and Ron (Judy); daughters, Marlene Deschamps, Pat (Dan) Guerton, and Pam (Jim) Pitmon; and grandchildren, Kelly, John, and Ron (Barb) Veillieux, Jay (Wendy) Deschamps, Jeneen Deschamps, Guy Calder, Michael (Angie) Deschamps, Shawna (Mike) Inrie, Monique (Lee) Deschamps, Shannon (Norman) Wells, Garnet (Lori) Deschamps, Ryan (Erin) Deschamps, Stacey (Paul) Schulz, Jason (Jody) Easton, Brady Pitmon and Liberty, Lindsey (Mike) Serrano, Cindy (Greg) Allan, Donnie (Rose) Beck, Debbie (Wade) Perusse, and Mathew and Dustin Guerton.
She also is survived by 31 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcenia Foster and Marcella (Charles) Trickey; sisters-in-law, Theresa Deschamps and Norma Deschamps; brother-in-law, Bernard (Mary) Deschamps; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends and neighbours.
She was predeceased by her husband, Phillippe, on July 21, 2002; her parents, John and Alice Shucard; foster daughter, Celeste; special great-granddaughter, Nicole; sisters, Mary and Alice (in childhood), and Frances Charbonneau and husband, Romeo; brother, John Shucard; mother- and father-in-law, James and Rose Deschamps; sisters-in-law, Sr. James Marie, Hilda Ducatt, and Irene Unger; and brothers-in-law, Fred Deschamps, James J. Deschamps, and Everett Foster.
A memoriam mass and celebration of Anne’s life will be held in the later part of May, when all her children will be able to attend.
