ANNE FRENETTE

Anne Frenette passed away suddenly at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 12, 2003. She was in good health, and lived in her own home at 904 Smith Ave. in Fort Frances until her passing.
Anne celebrated her 90th birthday in Fort Frances, surrounded by family and friends, on March 23, 2003.
Anne loved plants and gardening all of her life, and her prized petunias in hanging baskets were featured in the local paper on more than one occasion. Anne also loved to travel, and travelled to both coasts for weddings and visiting, as well as to the U.S.A.
Equally loved and tended to was her immediate family of 13 children, 33 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Cards, presents, and gifts of money flowed over the years for every occasion, and only slowed down in the last couple years.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Onesime (Ony) Frenette on April 20, 1971.
Anne is survived by her sisters, Julia Lansing of Whitby, Ont., Mary Benson and Peggy Martinson of Fort Frances, Ont., and Hilda McMahon of Kenora; and brother, John Lengyel of Fort Frances, Ont.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Katie Loewen, Helen Smith, and Irene Alexander.
Anne also was predeceased by three of her children, Margaret-Anne, Dennis (Denise), and Anita Jackson (Len).
She is survived by her children, Donald (Rose deceased) of International Falls, Mn., David (Johannah) of Rocky Mountain House, Alta., Jerry (Aileen) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Bob (Diane) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Jim of Fort Frances, Ont., Rick (Joy) of Kenora, Ont., Susan Van Schaik (John) of Sidney, B.C., Bonnie Henson (Ken) of Bowser, B.C., Tom (Karen) of Nanaimo, B.C., and Cathy Docken (Tim) of Parksville, B.C.
Anne also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she visited with and kept in touch with over the years. She will be missed by friends and family.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Ray Ronquillo will officiate, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Parish prayers will be offered there at 7 p.m.
