Anne Barr, 82, of Alberton Township, Ont., passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005 at the La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Anne was born Jan. 28, 1923 in Winnipeg, Man. to Molly and Nick Zdan. She was raised in Carrick, Man. and moved to Fort Frances following her marriage to Wilson Barr on April 20, 1944. Together, they farmed in Crozier for many years.
She enjoyed being outdoors, working in the garden, or tending to the animals. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Wilson, on April 20, 1996; stepson, Fred Barr; grandson, Allan; and her parents.
Anne leaves behind her children, Joan and husband, Art Wood, of Lethbridge, Alta., Gordon Barr of Edmonton, Alta., Rod Barr and wife, Jeanette, of Red Rock, Ont., Molly and husband, Larry Coe, of Lethbridge, Alta., and Lea Barr and wife, Alanna, of Crozier, Ont.; grandchildren, Barry (Kathy) Wood, Richard Wood, Rodney (Tamara) Barr, Shelly (Mike) LeFleur, Dale (Angie) Barr, Allan (Melissa) Barr, Matthew Barr, Marie Barr, and April Coe; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Cody, Jordan, Rachel, and Adam Wood, Alex and Mitchell Barr, Dylan, Tyler, and Hannah LeFleur, and Jesse Barr.
Also surviving are her sisters, Mary Owen of Thunder Bay, Ont., Sally Ostrom of Eva Lake, Ont., Wassey Trudeau of Atikokan, Ont., and Emma (Harry) Brasseur of Salmon Arm, B.C.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place at Riverside Crematorium in Thunder Bay.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Marietta Marshall officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
