Anne Acree passed away on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018.
She was born on March 15, 1942 to the late Donald and Betty McGregor of Rainy River, Ont.
Anne was a dedicated wife and mother who made anywhere her family was home. Everything from the tent to the house, or a quick snack to Christmas dinner, she was concerned for her family and guests before herself.
She made slippers and afghans, wore out several fishing reels casting from the dock, and loved to camp and canoe regardless of the weather.
She also loved to garden. There were blooms all summer long, with tomatoes and cucumbers to spare. She even won a few ribbons at the Emo Fair for flowers and vegetables but never would have mentioned that herself.
Predeceased by her brother, Donald, brother-in-law, Ferdy, and nephew, Robin, Anne is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth; brother, Ross (wife, Sharon); twin sister, Joy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be forever remembered by her husband of 54 years, Wayne; son, Ross (wife, Jacqui); and granddaughter, Sasha.
An example of selflessness for those who knew her, she will be sadly missed.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Knox United Church in Rainy River, officiated by Rev. Frances Flook.
Interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
In memoriam donations may be made to Rainy River Health Centre Long-Term Care or Rainy River Knox United Church c/o Northridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 89, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.
