ANNA SALAMUND

Anna Salamund, 92, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 1998 at her residence.
Anna was born Jan. 6, 1906 in Chedlewce, Austria, where she was raised. In 1932, she moved to Canada and settled in Fort Frances, Ont., where she has lived until her passing.
In 1948, she was united in marriage to Basil Salamund.
Anna was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, and enjoyed gardening and canning. She especially enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, and will be sadly missed by them all.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Magdalena Drozada; and her husband, Basil Salamund (1981).
Anna is survived by her three daughters, Dorris “Audrey” Kleinpeter of Baton Rouge, La., Jennie and husband, Herb George, of Fort Frances, Ont., and Diane and husband, Pat Cleveland, of Wetaskwin, Alta.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church at Couchiching First Nations, Ont. Father Ed Kosa O.M.I. officiated, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at Couchiching.
Friends visited Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Parish prayers were offered at 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers were John George, Neil George, Wayne George, Jim George, Dick Bird, and Gandy Woods.
