Peacefully, with family and friends at her side, Anna Mae Sullivan passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 to begin her journey to the spirit world.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1931 to Louis and Margaret Wietecha in International Falls, Mn. and lived there her entire life.
On Sept. 17, 1955, Anna Mae and John “Jack” F. Sullivan were married. Together, they raised a family of five children and made their home on Shorewood Drive.
Mom also was a Registered Nurse, and trained at the College of St. Scholastica and St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Mn. Early in her career, she worked at Nopeming Sanitarium, Falls Memorial Hospital in labor and delivery, and at Boise Cascade as an industrial nurse.
She became the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Falls Nursing Home in the 1970 and served until her retirement 26 years later.
Anna Mae was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love knew no boundaries. She was an avid listener and mentored many young nurses to do their best and taught them what going the extra mile means.
Anna Mae was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Margaret Wietecha; and her husband, Jack Sullivan.
She leaves behind her five children whom she loved with all her heart, Lisa (Reg) Cameron, Sharon (Curt) Aaseng, Maggie Sullivan Osman, Michael (Robin) Sullivan, and Patrick Sullivan.
Also surviving is her brother, Robert Wietecha; sisters, Marsha Couture, Susan Schnick, and Patti Deroy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m., followed by a visitation.
A luncheon will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Hall.
Interment to be held in the spring.
