ANNA ERNESTINE HASBY

Anna Ernestine Hasby, 93, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Anna was born June 18, 1911 in Fort Frances and had lived here all her life. She had worked at the Fort Frances Curling Club for several years as a babysitter. She also had worked as a laundress at the Prince Albert and Rainy Lake hotels.
She enjoyed quilting and knitting, and loved animals. She loved the lake and, in her younger days, she spent the majority of her time boating on Rainy Lake.
She was a kind-hearted person who loved children and would open up her home to anyone who was in need. She was a happy-go-lucky person who was full of life, and enjoyed laughing and getting together with her many friends and family.
Anna was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances.
Anna will be sadly missed by her daughter, Adaline Wood of Nestor Falls, Ont.; and her three grandchildren, Kim (Marilyn) Morrison of Fort Frances, Dawn-Marie (Russell) Pickering, and Dorthea (John) Glavind of Ottawa, Ont.
Also left to cherish her memory are her four great-grandchildren, Brandon Morrison, Shana-Ray Morrison, Tyler Glavind, and Mikara Glavind.
She was united in marriage June 27, 1938 to Clifford Hasby, who predeceased her on Dec. 26, 1964.
She also was predeceased by her daughter, Eilleene Morrison; parents, Ernest and Ida Green; son-in-law, Don Morrison; great-granddaughter, Carrine Morrison; her foster parents, Anastasia and John McCrank; and her foster brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 25, at 10 am. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances. Fr. Francis Pudicherry officiated, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
The pallbearers were Robert Gibson, Eldon Gibson, Brad Holden, Greg Holden, Jerry O’Leary, and John Glavind.
