Ann Laidlaw, 89, of International Falls, MN. passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at Falls Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 11, 1918 at International Falls, Mn.
Ann was a lifelong resident of the International Falls and Fort Frances area, and she graduated from Falls High School. In 1934, she moved to Fort Frances, Ont.
The former Ann Carriveau was united in marriage to Lyle Laidlaw on July 21, 1942 in Fort Frances.
She worked for the Mando paper mill for 10 years, where her father was assistant manager and therefore she never let the salty language of her co-workers bother her.
She later worked for the Court Department Registrar of Deeds, Department Auditor, Treasurer, and Abstractor.
Ann had a passion for playing golf with her brother, Bo,b and was a lifelong lover of bridge. In fact, she would will herself well to get to a game.
Her memberships included St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Falls Country Club.
She was predeceased by her parents, E.J. “Piddo” Carriveau and Jane (Zimmerman) Carriveau; and brother, Bob Carriveau.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Laidlaw, of International Falls, Mn.; niece, Nanci Carriveau of Albuquerque, N.M.,; nephew, J.R. Carriveau of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and special friends, JoAnn (Marty) Wuollet of International Falls, Mn.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
