Anita Palmira Lovisa McIntosh, 83, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls surrounded by family.
Anita was born Aug. 29, 1933 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Giovanni and Melanie Lovisa.
Anita married Warren McIntosh on Nov. 8, 1952 in Fort Frances. They moved to International Falls in 1957, then lived in Thief River, Mn., New Ulm, Mn., and back to International Falls in 1963.
She was a housewife who loved baking, cooking, Bingo, cards, visiting with friends, knitting, crocheting, and enjoying time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren, and gambling with her close friends.
Anita was predeceased by her husband, Warren; parents, Giovanni and Melanie; sisters, Adele (Bill) Fichuk and Teresa (Bob) Ness; and brother, Don Lovisa.
She is survived by her sons, Brad (Patsy) McIntosh of Rice, Mn. and John (Brenda) McIntosh of Duluth, Mn.; daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Kostiuk of International Falls, Mn. and Patti (Bill) Wilson of Fort Frances, Ont.; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan (Sarah), Jacob (Kirsten), Justin, Tricia (Chad), Samantha, Lyndsi, Nikki, Jerad (Ashley), Jada (Justin), and Dylan (Kristi); and 10 great-grandchildren, Carson, Brink, Banks, Mira, Greta, Gabriel, Cooper, Luke, Jack, and Harper.
Anita also is survived by her sister-in-law, Chris Lowe; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Resurrection was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls.
Visitation was held one hour prior, with Rosary beginning at 1 p.m.
The family invited everyone to an afternoon tea at the Aquinas Hall following the service.
