ANDREA LYN SILANDER (nee Booth)

Silander, Andrea

With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Andrea Silander, 49, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Andrea was born in Fort Frances on Dec. 19, 1967 to Jack and Carol Booth.
She loved to read Sandra Brown and Nora Roberts novels, and enjoyed watching “All My Children,” “Young and the Restless,” “Criminal Minds,” “CSI,” and “Chicago PD.”
Andrea took great pride in everything she did, especially her hair, makeup, and clothing. She also loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, Fort Frances Lakers, and NASCAR races.
Andrea’s mom, Carol, got her hooked on going to the casino and she enjoyed special crazy trips with her.
Andrea enjoyed Maroon 5 and loved Adam Levine. She also had a great love of music and theatre plays, such as “Phantom of the Opera” and “Wicked.” She went to each play with each of her kids and passed on the love of music to her children.
In the last few months of Andrea’s life, she watched every episode of “Say Yes to The Dress” and told her kids what to wear at their weddings.
Andrea also loved TLC and HGTV, and knew every show on those networks.
She worked at La Verendrye Hospital and took pride in her work, and enjoyed going to work every day. She was very good with numbers and very organized at her job.
Over the last few years of her life, she took the hand that was dealt to her and kept her head high, laughed lots, cried some, hugged fiercely, and loved even harder. Mom fought incredibly hard and never complained a day about being sick. She accepted all the procedures, tubes, needles, and sometimes cranky nurses.
Mom loved her call button and we kids unplugged it to keep the nurses sane.
Andrea will be greatly missed by her children, Tylyn (Tyler) and Teanna; parents, Jack and Carol Booth; and siblings, Carla Booth-Marschalk, Scott (Brooke) Booth, Alyson (Chad) Wannamaker.
Andrea also is survived by her Auntie, Linda Booth; nieces and nephews, Ryley, Jesse, Lane, Jackson, and Quinn, and Megan, Ben, and Paige; as well as many cousins.
Andrea was predeceased by her Grandma Grace; Uncle Tom Booth; father-in-law, Barry Silander; special grandparents, Jack and Maggie Clarke; as well as many aunt, uncles, and extended family members.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Church in Fort Frances, with Rev. Diane Clifford officiating.
Interment will take place at the Burriss Cemetery.
The honourary pallbearers will be all her close friends, family, and everyone who held a special place in her heart.
