Amelia Louise Tom (Ammy Gilchrist, nee Chambers), of London, Ont., passed away suddenly there on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 in her 54th year.
Mother of Jaimi and Sarah, both of London, Ont., and grandmother of Skylar and Alexis.
Daughter of Ferne and Frank Chambers of Norwich, Ont.; and sister of Carolynn Collins (David) of Aylmer, Ont., Blaine Chambers (Janice) of Woodstock, Ont., Sidney Chambers of London, Ont., Grant Chambers (Vicky) of Hickson, Ont., Wendy Walters (Jim) of Tavistock, Ont., and Phyllis Tom, Charlene Calder, Stuart Hettinga, and Tom Braassoy, all of Winnipeg, Man.
Amelia was predeceased by her biological parents, Percy and Frances Tom; and her sister, Joanne Chambers (2002).
Amelia also will be missed by her friends, Callum Kinghorn and Ian Rutherford; as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Amelia and her siblings entered the child welfare system in 1967 upon the death of their surviving parent. Shortly thereafter, she was adopted by the Chambers family in southern Ontario, where she resided until her passing.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall, with Pastor Wally Detweiler officiating.
Interment will take place in at a later date.
