ALMA VOLK

Alma Volk, 94, of Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont. passed away peacefully at her residence Sunday, April 4, 2010.
Alma was born Jan. 26, 1916 in Germany.
She immigrated to Canada in 1954 to Toronto, Ont., where she lived for a year. She then moved to Fort Frances in 1955, where she had lived since.
She enjoyed traveling and playing Yahtzee.
She was united in marriage to Frederick Carl Volk, who predeceased her in 1977.
She also was predeceased by her parents, and brothers and sisters in Germany; her stepson-in-law, Fred Volk; and her step-grandson, Arthur Volk.
Left to cherish her memory is her step-daughter, Julie Volk of Fort Frances, Ont.; five step-grandchildren, Larry (Liz) Volk of Pambrun, Sask., Eugene (Krys) Volk of Winnipeg, Man.,
Patty (Ron) Meunier of Thunder Bay, Ont., Karen (Patrick) Wilkes of Peterborough, Ont., and Evelyn (Richard) Roy of Kenora, Ont.
Also surviving are six step-great-grandchildren, Brad (Amy) Meunier of Thunder Bay, Ont., David (Carol) Meunier of Thunder Bay, Ont., Heather and Ryan Wilkes, both of Peterborough, Ont., and Adam and Aaron Roy of Kenora, Ont.; two step-great-great-grandchildren, Hunter and Ashton Meunier of Thunder Bay, Ont.; as well as nieces and nephews in Germany.
 A celebration of Alma’s life will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Pastor Brian Keffer officiating.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers will be Brad Meunier, David Meunier, Heather Wilkes, Ryan Wilkes, Adam Roy, and Aaron Roy.
