Clare Maguire, born April 18, 1946, passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Ont. on Monday, Jan. 18, 1999 with her family by her side.
Born in Fort Frances, Ont., she grew up in the family home in Burriss.
Clare moved to Thunder Bay, Ont. in 1967 and was married on Aug. 16, 1969. She worked at various beauty salons in Thunder Bay, and had been employed at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital since 1986.
She was a great Toronto Maple Leafs fan and minor hockey league supporter, and will be remembered by the sound of the cow bell she cheered with. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Clare was a member of OPSEU Local #720.
She was predeceased by her father, Ron Booth; brother-in-law, Pat Maguire; mother-in-law, Bernice Maguire; and nephew, Sean Maguire.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Mike Jr. (Colette); daughter Kelly; mother, Thelma Booth of Fort Frances; and siblings, Norma (Joe Danku) of Fort Frances, Ted (Bette) Booth of Kenora, Betty Maguire of Fort Frances, Karen (Richard) Lee of Fort Frances, and Cecile (Brian) Drummond of Winnipeg.
Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, with interment at Riverside Cemetery.
