It is with great sadness that the family of Allan Cann announces his passing on Sunday June 24, 2007 at the Emo Health Centre in Emo, Ont.
Allan was born Dec. 16, 1936 in Emo to Leslie and Myrtle Cann. He lived in the Emo area all of his life. He was united in marriage to Betty Holborn on Sept. 8, 1959.
As a young man, Allan joined the construction business, working as a truck driver from 1956-80. He worked as a logger from 1981-96 and then joined Fred Brown Equipment as a mechanic, retiring on Dec. 31, 2003.
He also enjoyed any outdoors activities. He was a soft-spoken man who loved to visit with his children whom he cared for deeply.
He leaves behind his wife, Betty; three sons, Douglas (Ruth), Brian (Erica), and Bruce Cann, all of Emo, Ont.; granddaughters, Crystal Busch of Victoria, B.C., Tina (Kevin) Hagen of Blackhawk, Ont., and Courtney (Gerald) Ducharme of Winnipeg, Man.; great-granddaughters, Tanisha, Sierra, and Tessa; and great-grandsons, James and Jesse.
Also surviving are his sister, Darle Cesmystruk of Beausejour, Man.; brother, Glen (Candace) of Dryden, Ont.; brother-in-law, Steve Cesmystruk of Tyndell, Man.; mother-in-law, Annie Holborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Allan was predeceased by his father, Leslie in 1993; mother, Myrtle in 1990; brother, Murray in 1953; and father-in-law, Edward Holborn in 1998.
Cremation has taken place at the Rainy River Crematory Services in International Falls, Mn.
A private family service will be held.
