ALLAN H. WICKSTROM

Allan H. Wickstrom, 87, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Sunday, May 9, 2004 in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Allan was born June 19, 1916 in Mora, Sweden. He emigrated to Canada at the age of four and settled in Minnesota. He later moved to Saskatchewan and then to Fort Frances in the fall of 1930, where he had lived since.
He was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 and the Swedish Club.
He had worked on the high conveyor for 11 years and had worked the crane in pulp storage for 24 years. He retired from the Boise Cascade paper mill after 37 years of service.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and woodwork, and he loved his many animals in West McIrvine.
He was united in marriage Jan. 27, 1940 to the former Joy Lecuyer, who predeceased him. He also was predeceased by his parents; son, Wayne; and brother, John.
Allan is survived by his sons, Douglas and Roger (Christine), both of International Falls, Mn.; and daughter, Marion (Argio) Tuis of Atikokan, Ont.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken (Shirley) of B.C., and Alvin (Delores) of Fort Frances, Ont.; sister-in-law, Dodie Wickstrom of Fort Frances, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Pastor Brian Keffer will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the service on Thursday from 9 until 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers will be Jeff Wickstrom, Roger Wickstrom, Todd Berg, and Roy Blount.
The honourary pallbearers will be Bruno Lindholm, Joe Gray, John Langel, and Ilio Gushulak.
