ALLAN GARY ELLIOTT

Allan Gary Elliott passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at the Regional Health Centre in Thunder Bay, Ont. at the age of 69.
Al was born on June 21, 1940 to the late Chesley and Dorothy Elliott. He was one of 12 children.
Al had many friends’ young and old who remember him as a very kind and caring person, always willing to help in any way he could.
Al spent most of his years cooking in tourist camps, mining and logging camps, and on the ships in Thunder Bay. Al also had the honour of cooking for former U.S. Vice-President Walter Mondale when he vacationed in the area.
Al is survived by his siblings, Lyal, Josie Dyck, Denise (Dwight Backer), Cecil (Maxine), Darlyne (Stu) Bruce, Norma Wolf, Herb (Marvel), Judy Kaemingh, and Oscar (Darlene); and sister-in-law, Irene Elliott.
He also is survived by his uncles, Melvin Clark and Ken Munn; aunt, Hazel Clark; good friends, Mary Lou, Mike, and Eva; and several nieces and nephews.
Al was predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Dorothy; brothers, Lawrence and George; and brothers-in-law, John Wolf, John Dyck, George Myers, Arnold Kaemingh, and Gil McKechnie.
He also was predeceased by a special aunt, Reta Clark, who raised the family after his mother passed away at a young age; aunts, Phyllis Munn, Luella (Perley) Elliott, and Lottie (Phil) Howlett; and nephews, Larry Elliott and Cpl. Danny Elliott.
Family and friends will be received at Royal Canadian Legion in Emo, Ont. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. for a time of fellowship.
