Allan Gardner Pattison, beloved husband to Edith, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 30, 2010.
Allan was predeceased by his parents Albert and Lillian; his sister Laura Lennox (Everett); brothers Levi Pattison (Margaret), Albert Pattison (Elizabeth), Colin Pattison, and Arnold Pattison (Helen); two sisters in infancy; great-grandson Daniel Lalonde; son-in-law Raymond Buchanan; brother-in-law Walter Oldford; and sister-in-law Lauretta Woodgate.
Allan will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Edith; son Leslie Pattison (Helen); daughter Evelyn Buchanan; and sons Douglas Pattison and Gordon Pattison (Patricia); and his grandchildren Donald Pattison, Donna Lalonde (Brendan), Jennifer Buchanan (Brian), Jeffery Buchanan, Christine Rooker (Clinton), Corrie Thompson (Darwin), Charlotte Green (Allan), Joyce Pattison (Greg), and Beth Pattison.
Also left to mourn Allan are numerous nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law Janice Miller; sisters-in-law Ellie Pattison. Violet Grice (Gordon), and Grace Oldford; and brother-in-law David Woodgate.
Allan was born in Emo, Ont on July 18, 1920. He was united in marriage to Edith Woodgate on Aug. 30, 1943.
Over the past 66 years, Allan and Edith had a good life and had the kind of marriage that was an inspiration to everyone.
Throughout his 90 years, Allan worked numerous jobs. He was a farmer, a logger, and until his retirement in 1983, he was employed for 25 years at Boise Cascade.
Allan was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved being outdoors. Some of his fondest memories was those spent at the cabin with his family.
He also enjoyed playing card games into the wee hours of the night.
He was a kind man and made friends easily; he was the type of person that would do anything for anyone.
At his request there will be no funeral, but a celebration of his life will take place at the Flinders Apartments, Fort Frances, Ontario on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 from 1-4 p.m.
