ALICE MARY ANDERSON

Alice Mary Anderson (nee Rousseau), 85, passed from our hearts peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2010 in St. Paul, Mn. after suffering a stroke on June 1.
Born May 24, 1925 in Fort Frances, Ont., Alice was a long-time resident of Nashwauk and Buck Lake, Mn.
She and her husband, Dick, ran the Eastern Itascan newspaper in Nashwauk from 1957-79. She also was very active in her community and a member of many organizations, including the American Legion Auxiliary, Boy and Girl Scout organizations, Buck Lake Improvement Club, and Swan Lake Country Club.
She also was a contributor to the Rainy Lake Conservancy.
She loved entertaining guests, spending time with family at Little Bear Island on Rainy Lake, spending time at her winter getaway in Dunedin, Fla., quilting, travelling, taking care of her flowers, and tending to all those beloved trees.
Alice is survived by her children, Bruce (Cindy), Scott (Debbie), and Gary (Ann) Anderson, and Barbara (Tim) Walior; and grandchildren, Nicole, Carrie, and Christine Anderson, Chad (Tiffany) Ison, Fawn Ison, and Alex Edlund.
Also surviving are her siblings, Eva Abbott Collett, Emile (Joyce) Rousseau, and Arthur “Art” (Vera) Rousseau; in-laws, Margaret “Marg” (Roland) Rousseau, Jeannine (Henry) Rousseau, and Margaret (Frank) Anderson; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (Dick) Anderson; parents, Arthur and Anna Rousseau; sisters, Yvonne Lemoyne and Therese Marchand; brothers, Henry “Hank” and Roland Rousseau; and in-laws, Gordon Abbott, Dick Collett, Rodger Lemoyne, John Marchand, Margaret and Arden Wendt, Frank “Andi” Anderson, and Bertil “Butch” Anderson.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 1 p.m. at St Mary’s Church in Fort Frances.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at church.
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
