Alice Hilda Albert, 95, passed away peacefully at the Emo Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002. She was born in Lasswade, Ont. on Jan. 26, 1907.
Hilda was one of the first volunteer members to start Meals on Wheels, and was the past president of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Redwing Rebekah Lodge and taught Sunday School at St. George’s Anglican Church for many years.
Hilda loved to spend time at the lake with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Peter (1962); daughter, Helen; son, Jack; brothers, Davis, Cecil, and Steven; and sister, Edna.
Hilda is survived by son, Mervyn; daughter, Dorothy; sister, Cecilia; grandchildren, Leonard, Nadine, Lyle, and Lisa; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002 at 11 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church. A luncheon will follow in the common room at the Golden Age Manor.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Emo Health Centre or St. George’s Anglican Church would be greatly appreciated.
