ALFRED WILLIAM BOSHEY

Alfred William Boshey, 55, of Lac La Croix First Nation, Ont. passed away Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Al was born March 14, 1951 to John and Elizabeth Boshey in Fort Frances, Ont. He resided at Lac La Croix First Nation all of his life.
He was united in marriage to Irene Ottertail on Oct. 17, 1970.
Al loved the community at Lac La Croix and from a young age worked with his elders to help improve it. He was a hard-working man who was very determined.
He learned to operate heavy equipment as a teenager and has instrumental in the completion of many of the roads in and surrounding Lac La Croix.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and passing down his knowledge to his son, Richard. At heart, Al was a family man who doted on his family; he loved every moment he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; children, Laurie-Ann, Allison, and Richard Boshey, all of Lac La Croix First Nation; and grandchildren, Anthony, Kiera, and Alex.
Also surviving are his father, John Boshey Sr.; brothers and sisters, Janice Jourdain, Alama Ottertail, Justin Boshey, Eddie Atatise, James Atatise, and John Boshey Jr.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Angus, Arthur, Edward, Henry, Stan, Helen, Anna, Fabian, Karen, and Kelly; as well as nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Al was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth; brothers and sisters, Alice Boshey, Sam, Bill, and Bob Atatise, and Nancy Boshey; and brothers-in-law, Ray and Robert.
A wake was held Sunday, July 23, 2006 from 1 p.m. at the family home at Lac La Croix First Nation.
A traditional funeral service was held in the morning of Monday, July 24, 2006 at the family home at Lac La Croix First Nation. Elder Gilbert Smith officiated, with interment in the Lac La Croix Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Al’s family and friends.
