It is with great sadness that the family of Aleksandra Sokolowski announce her sudden passing on Friday, Oct. 25, 2002 at her residence in Fort Frances, Ont.
Aleksandra was born May 17, 1914 in Tornopol, Poland to Joseph and Barbara Koszka. She came to Canada in 1934, settling in Fort Frances area.
She was united in marriage to Louis (Lucas) Bozynski in 1934.
After his passing in 1964, Aleksandra married Edward Sokolowski. Then in 1965, she started work as a health care aide at La Verendrye Hospital in the Pediatric Department.
She was a very active woman who enjoyed gardening, and was a member of Sister Kennedy Centre and St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Barbara Koszka; first husband, Louis (Lucas) Bozynski; second husband, Edward Sokolowski; three sisters; and one brother.
Aleksandra leaves behind her sons, Richard Bozynski and wife, Catherine, of Brampton, Ont., and Joseph Bozynski and wife, Ermelle, of Vancouver, B.C.; granddaughters, Karen Bozynski and Cheryl Bozynski, both of Toronto, Ont., Michelle Bozynski and husband, Dr. Paul LaBrecque, of Hamilton, Ont., and Chantelle Bozynski of Vancouver, B.C.; great-grandson, Maxamillion LaBrecque; and one sister, Josephine Kunik of Poland.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 1, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Rey Ronquillo officiating.
Cremation will take place, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
