Tragically, on Wednesday Sept. 30, 2009 in Fort Frances, Ont., Aldon Morphet of Fort Frances, and formerly Alberton Township, passed away at age 64.
Aldon was born May 7, 1945 in Lash Township to the late Allan and Doris Morphet. He grew up on the family farm in Lash Township, and attended school in Lash and Emo.
Aldon was employed by the Fort Frances mill for a short period and also drove chip truck. He was an excellent welder and mechanic.
Aldon often attended stock car races, and was the flag man for many years at the Emo Speedway.
He also enjoyed catering for many community “pork roasts.”
Aldon will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Darlene (Cecil) Fletcher of Emo, Ont. and Mary Jane (Stanley) Kruger of Dryden, Ont.; his nieces and nephews, Brian (Sandy) Gamie, Alex (Dorothy) Gamie, Kevin (Aaron) Kruger, Michael (Deanna) Kruger, and Kerri-Ann (Pasi) Pinta; great-nieces and nephews, Brandon Ronmark, Masion, Colton, and Abby Gamie, Caymen, Kyla, Alexis, Cameron, Morgan, Kara, and Ryan Kruger, and Kasey, Brooke, and Griffin Pinta; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of Aldon’s life will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., with Pastor Gordon Armstrong officiating.
Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery in Emo at a later date.
The honorary pallbearers will be Brian Gamie, Kevin Kruger, Michael Kruger, and Pasi Pinta.
