ALBERT WEIR

It is with great sadness that the family of Albert Weir announces his passing on Friday, May 30, 2014 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He was born June 18, 1923 in County Armagh, Northern Ireland to William and Sarah Weir. When Albert was three years old, he moved to Ontario with his family, settling in Crozier, Ont.
He was united in marriage to Delores Pelletier on Aug. 9, 1945.
In early adulthood, Albert worked on the Alaska Highway. He was engaged in trucking after returning from there.
He later worked as a mechanic for Reid’s Garage and then West End Motors. He also was a custodian at Robert Moore School.
He and Delores owned the Little Pine Motel in Emo, Ont., and he also worked as a stationary engineer with La Verendrye Hospital.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits. He and Delores also travelled extensively.
Albert was predeceased by his wife, Delores, on Sept. 30, 2003; his parents, William and Sarah; brothers, George, Ed, Harper, and Anthony Weir; and sisters, Dorothy Rostie and Evelyne Marsh.
He also is survived by his sisters-in-law, Lila and Dorothy Weir.
Albert leaves behind his daughters, Cheryl and husband, Gary Baldwin, and Karon and husband, Howard Wilson; granddaughter, Sarah Baldwin and husband, Oscar, and great-grandson, Ridley Baldwin; granddaughter, Courtney Baldwin; and granddaughter, Sherri Lynne and husband, Robert Martin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He also enjoyed the company of a special friend, Pam Makarchuk.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Wayne McIntosh of St. John’s Anglician Church officiating.
Interment will take place in the Fort Frances Cemetery.
Following interment, everyone is invited to a luncheon at St. John’s Anglician Church in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the service on Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. 
The honorary pallbearers will be Larry Buffington, Ray Watson, Ronald Deschamps, Duane Rostie, and Murray Weir.
