It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother Albert Allan Wilson Hawk with his family by his side on Friday, June 25, 2010 at La Verendrye Hospital.
Albert was born on April 26, 1957 in Emo, Ontario to the late Hilda and Wallace Wilson. He was also predeceased by his brother and sister, Bruce and Sharon Wilson, and Grandma Alice Hawk.
Albert is survived by his wife Barb Wilson, and his six children, his daughter Rhoda Archie (Myron), and his five sons, Robin Archie (Melisa), Albert Wilson Jr. (Lana) and Jeff Morrison (Leana), Robert John, and Dailen (Delores).
He is also survived by his two sisters and six brothers; Sheila (Peter) and Sherry Wilson, Keith Wilson (Louise), Terry Wilson (Lisette), Roger Wilson (Patricia), Wallace Wilson Jr. (Denise), Jeff Brown (Tracy), Shawn Brown (Genny) as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was proud to be Papa to 17 grandchildren. He enjoyed spending quality time time with them and always held them close to his heart. They include: Malcolm, Mariah, Nevada, Brenden and Julia Wilson; Kenisha, Robbie, and Lucas Archie; Aaliyah and Kendall Medicine; Kaitlyn, Jeff Jr., Desiree and Evan Morrison; and Shawannah, Shaelyn, and Payten Tuesday.
Albert lived his life following traditional values and always enjoyed attending pow wows. He loved hunting, fishing and the game of golf. He had a one of a kind sense of humor and enjoyed making jokes and laughing with family and friends.
Albert had a heart of gold and was always willing to go the extra mile to help his friends and family when they needed it.
His other great passion in life was to work on his vehicles. He took great pride in his GMC Yukon and Grand Am GT.
Albert was very friendly and sociable and will be greatly missed by all.
Elder Steve Johnson will officiate a traditional burial service to celebrate Albert’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 9 a.m. at the Rainy River First Nation Gymnasium. A wake will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Rainy River First Nation Gymnasium.
The pallbearers will be John Copenace, Myron Medicine, Conrad Wilson, BJ Wilson, Shawn Brown and Bruce Wilson.
The honourary pallbearers will be Shirley Andy, Tracy Andy, Mackenzie Archie, Judy Morrison, Carrie Ann Brown and Beatrice Windigo.
