It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Warner on Friday, March 4, 2011 at his winter residence in Pharr, Tex.
He was born March 31, 1938 and raised in Kenora, Ont., where he spent most of his life.
He began his teaching career in 1966 for the Kenora Public Board of Education, and taught both at Beaver Brae Secondary School and the Alternative Learning Centre.
He was an avid golfer always striving to improve his game! Other passions included travelling, reading, curling, and following baseball.
Alan also thoroughly enjoyed time spent with family and friends sharing stories and laughter.
The love for the road was his journey in life and this brought him many adventures.
Alan was predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Lloyd Warner.
He is survived by his loving wife, best friend, and companion, Merle. He also will be sadly missed by his children and grandchildren, Tracey (Bob) Bernie, Emily and Jack; Lori (Shaun) Dufresne, Adam and Renee; Jeff (Sandy) Warner, Amy and Matthew; Brenda and Danny Bock; Nancy Miller, Cody and Christian; Brad and Tyler Miller.
Alan also is survived by his brother, David (Peg) Warner, and his sister, Joan Warner. Many nieces and nephews also will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Alan’s life will be held at a later date.
