ALAN KIETH GRENNIER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Kieth Grennier.
On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, after a long battle with cancer, he passed quietly in his sleep at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He has been welcomed home by his mother, father, and brother, Gerry.
Left to celebrate his life is his wife, Irene, who has been by his side for 60 years.
Alan also was father to four daughters; grandfather to 11; and great-grandfather to four. He loved and valued his family.
He leaves behind an extensive family and many friends to join the celebration.
After 25 years of hard work at the Steep Rock mine in Atikokan, Ont., upon its closure, he then ended his career at the mine in B.C.
After retiring, and thoroughly enjoying 32 years in B.C., Al and Irene decided it was time to return to their family and friends in Fort Frances.
A service to celebrate his life was held Friday, May 17, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations appreciated to either the St. John’s Anglican Church Mission Fund, 360 Church St., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 1E1 or Refuge Youth Ministries, 1029 Frenette Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3V5 (274-5205).
