ALAN J. (CORK) BRADY

Alan John (Cork) Brady, 64, of Devlin, Ont., passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 5, 1998 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Man. following a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Sault St. Marie, Ont. on Oct. 26, 1934.
Cork started work for Bell Canada in 1956 and worked in various locations in Northwestern Ontario. He transferred to Fort Frances in 1981, and worked here as a plant manager until his retirement in 1989.
His main interests were travelling, enjoying his camp at Lake Shebandawan, and especially being a “grandpa” to Kayla, Michael, Ryan, and Shawn.
Mourning his loss are his sisters, Grace Mathewson of Sault St. Marie, and Patricia and Ellwood Mckinnon of Desbarates, Ont.; and brothers, Richard and Virginia Brady of Sault St. Marie, and Paul and Mary Brady of Thunder Bay.
Cork had many nephews and nieces across Canada. He was especially close with his nephew, Alan W. Brady, wife, Marie, and their children, Kayla, Michael, Ryan and Shawn, all of Fort Frances.
He will be sadly missed as he was such a special person in their lives.
His cremated remains will be interred in the family plot in Sault St. Marie, Ont.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Fort Frances on Friday, Sept. 11, 1998 at 2 p.m. A gathering of friends to celebrate his life will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall (404 Scott St.) in Fort Frances.
