AILEEN MAE CAMERON

It is with great sorrow that the family of Aileen Mae Cameron, 77, of 724 First St. W., Fort Frances, Ont., announces her passing peacefully on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011.
She was born April 16, 1933 in Sabine Township, Ont. to the late Thomas (Jack) and Mabel Pigeon.
On June 19, 1954, Aileen was united in marriage to Sterling Cameron. Following their marriage, they raised their family in both Whitney, Ont. and Fort Frances.
Aileen was well-known for her cooking skills and was a very talented quilter. She also loved spending many happy hours with her husband and family, and will be dearly missed by them.
Aileen was predeceased by her husband, Sterling, of 58 years on Feb. 9, 2011.
She also was predeceased by one brother, Norman Pigeon; one sister, Marion Yantha; and son-in-law, David Kuiack.
Aileen is survived by her four children, Cindy Cameron, Laurie (Forch) Mauro, and Reg (Lisa) Cameron of Fort Frances, Ont. and Ray (Shannon) Cameron of Winnipeg, Man.; five grandchildren, Jason Kuiack (Janet), Jaala Plaskett (Sean), Logan Cameron, Sonja Cameron, and Ryan Cameron.; great grandchildren, Malia, Keira, and Abbey Plaskett; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sister, Hazel Carswell of Bracebridge, Ont.; five brothers-in-law, William Cameron of Madawaska, Ont., Irvine (Jessie) Cameron of Cornwall, Ont., Ivan (Ines) Cameron of Pembroke, Ont., and Calvin (Linda) Cameron and Wallace (Judy) Cameron of Armprior, Ont.; two sisters-in-law, Iva-Lois (Richard) Manley of Owen Sound, Ont. and Doreen (Gary) Carlton of Shelburne, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place at Rainy River Cremation Services in International Falls, Mn.
A private family memorial service to celebrate Aileen’s life was held Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Wayne McIntosh officiating.
Inurnment took place in the Lady Frances Columbarium in Fort Frances Cemetery in Fort Frances. The honourary pallbearers were all of Aileen’s grandchildren.
