AGNES SMITH

It is with great sorrow that the family of Agnes Smith announce her passing on Saturday, July 28, 2001 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Agnes was born on Nov. 10, 1916 in Thunder Bay, Ont. spending her childhood in Sandy Lake, MB. She moved to Fort Frances at the age of 21 and was united to Alex Smith on Nov. 7, 1938 who passed away on April 27, 1987.
Agnes loved gardening, farming, and watching her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Many children would come and go out of her home, calling her Grandma. Agnes lived with her daughter, Judy, in Alberton Township since 1986 at the family house.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Agnes was the mother of twelve children Gladys Smith, Allan Smith and Lillian Smith, all of which predeceased her; Helen Lasn of Thunder Bay, Ont., Dorothy (Milton) Venables of Sault St. Marie, Raymond (Sharon) Smith of Cambridge, Ont., Billy Smith of Fort Frances, Mary Ann (Jerry) Anderson of Fort Frances, Linda Gretler and special friend Gaston Bassard of Fort Frances, Ont., Eleanor Smith of Texas, Phillip Smith of Fort Frances, Ontario and Judy Tibbs of Fort Frances, Ont.; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Father Eugene Whyte O.M.I. officiating.
Cremation took place in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
