It is with great sadness that the family of Agnes Hill announces her passing on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 at the UBC Transitional Care Unit in Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 92.
Agnes was born in Nagyborzsony, Hungary on Aug. 8, 1921 to Martin and Agnes Kempf.
She emigrated to Canada in 1930 and settled in Fort Frances, Ont.
Agnes was united in marriage to Charles Hill on May 8, 1943. They were married for 49 years before his passing in 1992.
They worked and lived on the farm in Miscampbell and Burriss, Ont. Her many hobbies included gardening, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards with her grandchildren.
She and Charlie enjoyed travelling, having visited Finland, Australia, the U.S., and various parts of Canada, including an annual trip to Vancouver to visit family and friends.
Agnes retired to Vancouver in 2009.
Agnes was predeceased by her parents; husband, Charles; and older brother, Martin.
She is survived by younger brother, Willie (Bernice) Kempf of Crozier, Ont.
Also left to mourn are her five children, Brenda (Jon), Albert (Jean), Stephen, Patricia (Bill), and Ralph; and daughter-in-law, Judy Kaufman.
Agnes also is survived by her 10 grandchildren, Alison, Hannah, Cecelia, Holly, Jessie, Wesley, Ashlee, Corie, Kurtis, and Chelsea; and 12 great-grandchildren.
