Adele Rose Baraniuk passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at the age of 90.
Adele was born Nov. 7, 1922 to Andrew and Nora Lernowich of Brandon, Man.
In 1943, she met and married the love of her life, Walter Baraniuk, who was serving with the Canadian Forces. After Walter was discharged, they moved to Fort Frances, Ont., where Adele has lived ever since.
Adele was a wonderful mother and she raised two sons, Larry and Jim. As well, she was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish, the Catholic Women’s League, and the La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary.
Adele loved family get-togethers, taking long walks, and volunteering in the community. She especially loved her Friday evenings at the Sister Kennedy Centre playing floor shuffle with her many friends.
Adele was predeceased by her husband, Walter; son, Larry; brothers, Joseph of Detroit, Mich., Charlie of Winnipeg, Man., Stanley of Brandon, Man., Walter of Red Deer, Alta., and Ted of Brandon, Man.; and sisters Emily of Larder Lake, Ont. and Jean of Surry, B.C.
She is survived by her son, Jim (Janet) Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; daughter-in-law, Susan, and sister-in-law, Alma Lernowich, of Winnipeg, Man.; and special grandson, Ryan of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, with Fr. Norberto Eyule officiating.
