It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Addie Oien, at the Emo Hospital in Emo, Ont. on Jan. 26, 2005.
She is survived by her son, Pat Lipsette (Diane) of Florida; her daughter, Sis Steele of Devlin, Ont.; and five grandchildren, Bob Steele (Becky), Pat Steele (Stacy), Jodi Holden (Brad), Jim Lipsette (Kim), and Mike Lipsette (Starr).
Addie also had five great-grandchildren, Ross and Darby Steele, Macy Holden, and Nicholas and Addison Lipsette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oliver Oien; and son-in-law, Bob Steele.
Addie was born Sept. 22, 1917 in the Grand Riviere, Gaspe Bay, Que. to George and Adeline Tetu.
Addie spent many years of her life managing Shady Roost Lodge and Mortimers Camp at Nestor Falls, Ont. In later years, she enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was a wonderful mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be sadly missed by all.
She also enjoyed the last few years of her life at the Emo Hospital, where they took care of her with such love and kindness.
At Addie’s request, there will be no funeral.
