Dear editor,
Wow! Wow! Wow! That pretty much sums up the feelings of all who saw the Fort Frances High School production of “Les Misérables” last week.
What an awesome undertaking by John Dutton and Chris and Sherree Denby. What a thrill to be able to sit back and get thoroughly involved in the emotions of the story.
The case was amazing—the level of talent never ceases to amaze me and each character was developed so well. I could feel tears welling in my eyes on several occasions.
The singing and choreography were superb. Adding to the excellence of the production was, of course, the orchestra—such talent. It still amazes me how so many people emerge from that pit at intermission.
I also must give accolades to the lighting, sound, and stage crew—amazing effects with the scene changes happening so smoothly and without interrupting the mood.
It was evident how much work went into constructing the sets. And one couldn’t help feeling they were thrust back in time with the costuming and make-up.
Still, there are no words to really express how very much I enjoyed this performance. I left the theatre wanting more, as always. I have no idea how you will top this one, folks!
Just know how much this district appreciates all your dedication and hard work. You give so much joy to so many! Thank you!
Signed,
Diane Maxey
