Worthwhile cause

Dear editor:
On Saturday, Sept. 9, the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts is holding its fourth annual “Ride For Memories.” Riders from all over Northwestern Ontario will take part in this event in an effort to raise funds for this worthwhile organization.
All monies raised by this event stay in the area to aid the society in its programs. Riders from our district will meet up with ones in Dryden to continue on to Sioux Lookout, before finishing the ride in Kenora.
A number of riders will be staying in Kenora as there will be a dinner at the Super 8 on Saturday night. I, on the other hand, will be doing the entire ride and returning home that same day.
Ouch!
I am going on this ride in memory of my grandmother, Dorothy Martin, who I’m sure many, in the Nestor Falls area particularly, will remember.
If you have a motorbike, I urge you to take part. If you know someone who is participating in the ride, please give him or her your support with a pledge. All pledges over $10 will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
Registration form/pledge sheets are available in Fort Frances at Badiuk Equipment, Super 8 Motel, Harbourage Restaurant, and La Place Rendez-Vous. I also have put up posters from Devlin to Rainy River, and placed pledge forms at the Circle D Restaurant, Borderland Esso, Village Variety, Cloverleaf Grocery, Roseberry Runway, and Marmus Shell.
If you’d like to support this worthy organization, along with the sacrifice of my sacroiliac, and would care to make your pledge through myself, I gladly welcome it.
As this is my first ride, and I’m doing it in memory of my grandmother, I’d like to make this fundraiser as successful as possible. You can forward your pledge (any amount will be greatly appreciated) made out to the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts c/o myself.
Please include your full mailing address and indicate if you would like a tax receipt mailed to you.
I hope to meet a pile of riders at The Harbourage at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 9!
Thanks for the space,
Will Baranowski
