Worrisome attitude

Dear sir:
I am worried about the attitude of the Liberal party and the federal government over the problems with Canadian Airlines. They are grossly over-funded and it is this debt load that keeps them unable to make a profit.
Air Canada is a profitable company, formed in the 1930s. It pioneered the trans-Canada route and gave much assistance to R.A.F. Ferry Command in pioneering the North Atlantic crossing.
Air Canada is noted among the best in the world and needs to be left as it is, giving good service.
Mr. Schwartz may have been a fundraiser for the Liberal party, who made his fortune by amalgamating the sugar companies. He closed the Winnipeg plant, taking the living of hundreds of sugar beet farmers in southern Manitoba and the Taber area of Alberta.
We now pay more for our sugar. This damage to our economy was just to make this despicable person rich.
Surely the Liberal party will not allow their fundraiser to ruin the air line which does our country proud. Surely it is worth keeping it independent Canadian–and not some neglected American subsidiary.
Yours truly,
Ron Helliar
