Dear editor:
There are some wonderful people in our world.
Monday last, I took my friend and her sister, who is visiting from Saskatoon, to the Rendez-Vous for lunch. We went for my friend’s sister’s 78th birthday.
While we were there, she told the waitress it was the first time in 78 years they had been together on her birthday, as they had been separated at birth.
We had a nice lunch with a nice waitress. Afterwards, a young man came over and said, “I could not help but overhear it was your birthday—‘Happy Birthday.’”
But he did not stop there. When we went to pay, the waitress said he had paid for all three of us and left.
We did not know this nice young man, and neither did the waitress. But if he is out there in this paper’s reach, thanks for your kindness. I think he had a fire and rescue in white on the back of his navy shirt.
What a special person! Thank you and God bless.
Signed,
Mrs. Nick Batiuk
