Wonderful people

Morris and Cindy Judson

Dear editor:
Shortly after midnight on Friday, Feb. 25, we were awakened by persistent knocking on the front door of our home.
We were shocked to find OPP officer Christopher Spence at the door to inform us what we then could see in the distance. A fire had broken out at the site of our company shop and was significantly advanced throughout the facility.
Officer Julie Cecchini had noticed the fire during their night patrol of Highway 11, dispatching volunteer firefighters from both Emo and Chapple municipalities.
The officers, firefighters, and our neighbour, Doug Cross, worked tirelessly in the frigid hours that followed to help us contain the blaze and move equipment, vehicles, and other property adjacent to the building out of the path of the fire.
Our secretary, Dianne Nordstrom, has been vigorously attentive to “righting the ship.”
As we push forward with the day-to-day operations of our business, we are thankful for the assistance of everyone who responded at the scene for helping us to ensure the fire did not cause any further destruction.
These individuals’ prompt and efficient efforts ensured that a dangerous situation did not result in a more tragic outcome.
Of course, our families have been so very thoughtful and supportive. In the past week, as we consider options to rebuild and seek temporary accommodations for work areas destroyed, the support of the area heavy equipment, trucking and contracting community has been tremendous.
Thank you to everyone for their dedication, care, and concern during this unfortunate circumstance. We’re thankful to live among such wonderful people.
Let’s keep on trucking.
Sincerely,
Morris and
Cindy Judson,
