Dear editor:
Would you please publish this letter concerning the rapid decline in the bee population.
The biggest problem is the modern hay machinery.
You go into a stand of hay alfalfa or clover in flower and there are many bees on the flowers. But you have a hay bine with fast-travelling rolls.
They swipe the hay down, where it is cut off and then through the rollers—bees and all.
They don’t have a chance in the world for survival.
